Take a Vacation in a Log Cabin

Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities when you stay at RETRO ON THE RIVER in Ruidoso, New Mexico. We provide many amenities for your comfort in between your adventures outside.


Modern Comforts

When you take a break from exploring nature or the town of Ruidoso, relax with some of the convenient technological additions to the otherwise retro cabin. For cooler weather seasons, the cabin features space heaters and window units. For warmer weather seasons, the window units provide great air conditioning.

Don't worry about getting too dirty. The cabin includes a washing machine and dryer for your clothes. We also provide and iron and ironing board. Stay dry and comfortable with the hair dryer, linens, and towels we provide in the cabin. Relax while watching a variety of channels on TV, or using the cabin's DVD player. Wi-Fi is available to help you stay connected.

You can even take a soothing soak in the private hot tub. Along with a fenced yard and waterfront view, the cabin includes a deck/patio area and outdoor grill.

Kitchen & Dining

For your convenience, the dining area comfortably seats four people. The kitchen includes the following appliances and supplies:

  • Dishes & Utensils

Simple Parking

Park your vehicle in front of the house. There is a private lot next to the cabin that fits another car. There is a public parking lot on the west side of the property. There is a private parking lot on the east side of the cabin where you can also park one car.

Nearby Fun

Ruidoso has many golf courses. The Cree Meadows Country Club is within walking distance of the cabin. Ski Apache® is a 40-minute drive from the cabin and features acres of beautiful slopes. The Ruidoso area is also perfect for many other activities, including:
